THE BLOG

TakeOff Avenue is a blog about taking off from a life of routine to live something exciting.

This year (2016), I've decided to embrace the idea that "change is good", although it can be scary. After several years of dreaming of travelling away with my guitar to a faraway place, where I could develop my music and live my passion fully, I have finally dared to make the change. This, of course, did not come without questions and great anxiety: quitting my job without any financial guarantee for my future was probably the biggest step I could ever make in this process of change. But, I have done it and I'm experiencing an intense feeling of relief: I'm finally allowing myself to live.

This has opened my eyes to the fact that the only hard thing in the process was really fear of regret: I was afraid of letting go of the security of a steady life to dive into the unknown that I had been dreaming of for so long. And above all, that steady life wasn't suiting me, so why was it holding me back?

So, here we are: I'm taking off for a two-month trip to Nashville (TN) with a few musical and personal objectives that I'd be happy to share with you if you choose to follow me on my journey down TakeOff Avenue. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not leaving to look for mass recognition for my music. The purpose of my trip is mostly about fulfilling my needs as a human being and fully experiencing my passion for music through writing, exploring, performing and meeting people.

My 2 months on TakeOff Avenue will be made of stories and observations that will most likely fall into the following categories:

Travel: Stories on life in Nashville, observations on cultural differences, photos, videos, etc.

Music: I'll be sharing what's happening in music for me out there, from taking classes, to writing new songs, meeting other musicians and songwriters, musical events, etc.

Marketing: I can't help looking at the world with a "marketing eye". So, I'll be sharing the differences I may notice in comparison to the way things are done in Switzerland and in Europe (the way things are marketed, the products, shops, etc.), or simply talk about things I'm experiencing with brands throughout my trip.

Personal development: I'll be sharing what this life-changing experience brings out in me and the feelings that come along with it during these two months.
